Mauro Menezes & Advogados was founded in the city of Rio de Janeiro (RJ), in 1938, by lawyer Alino da Costa Monteiro (1916 – 2001). Its initial purpose was to work with a focus on labor. In 1971, the firm moved to Brasília (DF) following the move of the Superior Labor Court (TST) to a federal capital. In this way, the field of action for the area of social rights was expanded.
Mauro Menezes & Advogados stands out in the defense of social rights and has as individuals clients and organizations with legal demands in the labor, administrative, constitutional, union, social security, environmental and consumer rights areas. The firm still has expertise in the defense of high employees, that is, the victims of chemical products in the workplace, as well as in the defense of political amnesties.
In 2003, the unit located in Salvador (BA) was inaugurated, as a result of the incorporation of the bank that belonged to the current Director-General, Mauro de Azevedo Menezes. The unit is coordinated by partner João Gabriel Lopes. With the growing demand for specialized services in São Paulo (SP), it was decided to open the São Paulo unit in 2011. Coordination is carried out by partner Érica Coutinho.
